Overall Condition: Good overall condition with some wear on the case, particularly on its sides. The cabochon on the lapis dial crown shows its age. The crystals and dials are in excellent condition while the markers and hands have earned the slightest patina. Some watches tell time. Others feel like objects pulled from a jewelry box— sculptural, slightly mysterious, and entirely their own thing. This Baume & Mercier reference, circa 1970s, sits comfortably in that second category. From the outset, it presents itself less as a conventional wristwatch and more as a commentary on material. Its twin dials are the clear focal points. Cased in a beautifully elegant 18K yellow gold body measuring 25mm x 53mm across, this watch houses two unique stone dials--- one fashioned from lapis and one from coral. The twin displays present a tasteful multi-color aesthetic on the wrist. The case features a beautiful scrolling motif on its curved surfaces. Simple dauphine hands decorate both dials, and the top display features major indexes, while the lower has none at all.
