This new Senator Chronograph is housed in a 41 mm diameter stainless steel case, which is characterised by its particularly slim profile and lends it the understated elegance of a dress watch. This handcrafted timepiece is available with a strap in Louisiana alligator leather, synthetic material or stainless steel with a fine-adjustment mechanism. The exquisitely finished in-house movement can be admired without any obstruction through the sapphire crystal caseback. The design of this automatic chronograph is reminiscent of the observation watches manufactured in Glashütte in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. These were robust, high-precision pocket watches that were used primarily in maritime navigation. Building on this tradition, this timepiece successfully combines the key chronograph functions in a comfortably sized watch: central stop-seconds, 30-minute counter, flyback mechanism, small seconds and Glashütte Original’s distinctive Panorama Date. The galvanic silver dial, crafted in Glashütte Original’s own dial manufactory, features an intricately embossed surface. Solid gold Roman numeral appliques with a blue coating and blued hands stand out against this background.
